University is where students go after finishing high school. The term "college" in the United Kingdom refers to an educational program for students that are 16 to 18. Once "college" is completed students can then go on to university.

Some of the first universities were located in France, Italy, and England. They helped train students to become lawyers and doctors. Today, there are thousands of universities and colleges all over the world. They offer training for almost every job.
