The Nobel Prize is awared every year on December 10th. They are given for excellence in the fields of physics, medicine, chemistry, literature, economics, and peace work.
South Africa has had several Nobel Peace Prize winners, such as Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela, and F.W. de Klerk.
Other famous Nobel Peace Prize winners include: Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King, Jr.
