The small country of Thailand is located in Southeast Asia. It is bordered by the countries of Burma, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Some quick facts about Thailand include:
- Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia that has never been ruled by a European country.
- The population of Thailand is around 66 million people. Buddhists make up about 95% of the country’s population.
- The country was originally know as ‘Siam’ until 1939.
- While many Asian countries use chopsticks, in Thailand most meals are eaten with a fork and spoon, and sometimes even with fingers!
