The Caribbean Sea is the second largest sea after the South China Sea. It covers about 1 million square miles, which is about four times the size of Texas.
The Caribbean Sea stretches from the south-east coast of México to the northern coast of South America. It is bordered in the east by the Atlantic Ocean and to the north by the Gulf of Mexico.
There are more than 7,000 islands in the Caribbean Sea, but only 2% of them have people living on them.
