Pre-Columbian

The Pre-Columbian Era technically refers to the time before Christopher Columbus’ voyages to the Americas (1492-1504). However, the term can also be used to refer to the history of American indigenous cultures (or Native Americans) before they were conquered or significantly influenced by Europeans. This includes all indigenous cultures throughout the Americas; México, and Central and South American native peoples.
