Meet the Explorer: Michelle Miller |

Hometown: Kansas City, MO. Favorite Food: Guacamole, Argentine steak with chimichurri sauce, empanadas, and choripan (spanish sausage baked in bread). One musician I’m really into right now: Martin Sexton - husky vocals, soulful lyrics, and skilled musicianship in a man who looks like my childhood dentist. I love when talent comes from unexpected packages. When I was little I wanted to be: A singer, a writer, and a teacher. I like to think I have become all three! Places I’d really like to visit: Istanbul, Turkey. I love when cultures collide and it is the best example of where East meets West One thing I can’t travel without: My little kit of airline essentials that lives in my carry-on bag: lotion, lip balm, antibacterial spray, mini-tide stick are a few of the items. Things I miss most when travelling: My family, especially my mother who loves travel and learning new things more than anyone I know. One thing that really scares me: Exposed heights, like ladders and cliffs. The most daring thing I’ve ever done: Other than bungee jumping to challenge my fear of heights? I am doing it right now as I put my life in storage for an indefinite amount of time to be nomadic in service of work I love. ProjectExplorer.org Expeditions: Central America (Fall 2011) |
